Amy Thorne-Broderick RCC
Hello! I am so glad you are here. My name is Amy, and I hope to see you in person in my office in Dunderave, West Vancouver, or online.
I am a certified teacher who worked in Texas and Vancouver, specializing in working with children who are neurodiverse. Much of my career was working with children and their families to better understand and manage their learning disability, ADHD, behavior and giftedness. I still work closely with families and schools to ensure that children who have IEP’s or a learning difference can shine and feel their best.
I have completed a masters of education in school counselling from City University and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor here in British Columbia. I enjoy working one on one with adults of all ages who are processing grief or grappling with mental health. I also work closely with adults who are coming to terms with their own neurodiversity.
I enjoy working with children, teens and tweens. My background is in child therapy and I use modalities such as play therapy, art and cognitive therapies. Children and teens often are communicating through their behavior and with expressive modalities, I can support them to understand themselves and give you tools to support them.
No matter your age or what the goal for therapy is, please reach out and we can discuss how I can support you and your family.
